Frequently asked questions

What does the 15% markup mean?
Meta (WhatsApp) charges a base rate for every template message. Ownchat adds a flat 15% on top — that's it. For example, if Meta charges ₹0.85 for a marketing message in India, you pay ₹0.98 total. Service conversations (customer-initiated, replied within 24hrs) are always free. Instagram conversations are also completely free — no per-message cost.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes! You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time. If you upgrade, the new rate applies immediately and is prorated. If you downgrade, the new rate applies from your next billing cycle.
How long does it take to get the Green Tick?
Meta's approval typically takes 2–5 business days. We handle the entire application process for you for free on all paid plans. You just need to be a verified business on Meta.
Do I need a separate WhatsApp number?
Yes, you need a phone number that is not currently active on a regular WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business app. You can use a new SIM or delete your existing WhatsApp account on that number to move it to the API.
